Hey Friends!!
How was you holiday weekend?
Do anything fun?
I went to Swiss Days in Park City, and hung with hubby on our new COUCH!!
Which reminds me I need to still take pics to share with you guys!!!
I'll put it on "The List".....but will it get done......???
I have a great project for you today!
Mod Podge Plates!
Here is the B&A:
{Sorry I know these pics aren't the best, my kitchen has HORRIBLE lighting!}
I found these vintage metal plates from the thrift store:
{It's hard to tell but these had engraved with this amazing floral pattern, and I promise in real life they weren't all rusty!}
{LOVE this fluted one!}
I had to do something with this coat/plate rack in our kitchen it was SOoooo not on the Chic Primary color scheme ;)!
Before:
{I am sort of embarrassed to be showing you this....so not cute!!}
So I thought these plates, with a little love would jazz it up!
Want to make your own?

This is how it's done:
1. Clean plates thoroughly to ensure the primer adheres to the surface.
2. Prime the plates, I use Kilz primer because man that stuff sticks to everything!
3. After allowing primer to dry paint your plates in a color of your choosing and allow to dry.
4. Then you need to measure the inlaid circle of each one of your plates. You will do this by placing your plate on top of some wax paper and trace the base with a pencil . This creates a stencil for your next step!
5. Place your previously made stencil on to your chosen scrapbook paper, trace the circle, and cut out.

6. Adhere your previously cut out scrapbook paper onto your plates using Mod Podge.

7. After allowing the glue to dry apply another layer on the surface to seal.
8. This step is optional. After allowing glue to dry completely apply a layer or two of Poly, I LOVE gloss so that is what I used.

9. ENJOY!!

SOoooooooo? What do you guys think? Much better right!

Wonderful idea! They really spruce up your rack - your PLATE rack. I wonder if it'd be safe to eat a cookie off of one of these babies? I'm thinking of sprucing up some platters for an upcoming birthday party but I don't want to poison someone...any thoughts?
