Alright guys I have a serious question for ya!
I have been thinking a lot lately about what to do with this lil ol' blog.
Ya see M.V.D. started out as a home decor/creation of all things blog, now for the time being its just a style blog. Ya see after I finish this crazy 30x30 challenge I still want to feature things I create and rooms that I design.
Here is my dilemma:
Would it be annoying to have personal style mingled with projects?
-OR-
Should I start a web blog that will encompass a style section, an interior design section, and a shop section (oh yeah I have been working on a little consignment shop where you can buy some of your favorite M.V.D. clothes!! Super excited right!!)
See I will eventually turn M.V.D. into a web blog I just don't know if I should do it now or wait??!!
So this is where I turn to you guys for help
(serious you guys never disappoint I don't know what I would do without ya!!)
I really just want to provide you guys your M.V.D. fix in whatever way you would like it best!!
For sure thank you guys for everything and for all the love you send me each and everyday!
Love, love.
ps: Entered yet??

I don't think I've commented much on your blog (or at all)...so you don't "know" me. But, I follow your blog and I love your little comments and stories. I say = Do what you want! I think that you could easily make it work to incorporate everything you want to do on one blog. Maybe try it out and see how it goes. If it starts to be too much on one blog and gets too "all over the place", then change it up and have separate blogs. But, I think that whatever you do - it will work out! :) Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling kinda dumb, but I'm not sure what a web blog is. However, I don't think that style and projects mingled would be annoying. They are totally related anyway.
ReplyDeleteNorth Meets South
i think having separate sections for style, decor, and the different topics you write about would be my personal preference. i love your style so i would be sad to see it go away once the challenge ends!
ReplyDeletebtw, i love how you styled the skinny cargos!
cute and little

I think you should just keep everything together, I started following your blog because of the design projects but I've enjoyed seeing your style in clothing at well. Whether you're dressing yourself or designing your home you're still a style blog!
ReplyDeleteYou can do the different sections if you want but I feel like it should all be posted on one main blog and then have the separate category be tagged. i.e. tag everything with that's style "style" tag everything that's home "home" and then you can have the sections show only your home posts or only your style posts so that people can see more of what they like!
i think it can be done well- look at Rachel @ Smile and Wave- she does just that and it's very successful.
ReplyDeletei love the personal style/projects idea! now that i'm super close to being able to wear real clothes again and not just my husband's sweats, it's nice to see what others are doing with clothes (without spending tons of dough) and i love your style! also, i liked the house projects/decorating stuff and wanted to do the mirrors-with-wallpaper-behind-the-tv idea in my nursery since i couldn't paint.. but i'm lazy and haven't yet. keep it comin'!
ReplyDeleteI dont think it would be annoying.. Just do what you want, if you want to try out the web blog, do it and see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!

You are giving me such great ideas to style those pants (I have a pair :) ). I love your blog. I think maybe it would be cool if your designated a few days of the week, ya know when you dont wear clothes, to other projects. But I know anything you do will be great!

I would vote for all-in-one! Call it a "lifestyle" blog! I think what makes a good blog, like yours :), is when it's really reflective of the person and everything they like and want to share!
ReplyDeleteI think you should put everything on one blog, but sectioned off. And separate feeds for each would be great. I like reading both fashion and decor blogs, but I generally read them in different chunks of time. Love the blazer today! And I am so regretting not including heels in my 30.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and style!
ReplyDeleteI think you should do both... why not? Who doesn't love fashion and design!
XOXO

i think you have do do what youre most passionate about. so if its one, or both, make it work for you! maybe you need a website that has a style section and an interiors section. or both! just do what you love most, and it'll be engaging if you love it! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd like it all. I don't think it would be distracting to have both. And as said, you can always separate later if it's not working out. That sounded like relationship advice lol
ReplyDeleteHere is my thought!!! If you want to create a web blog go ahead and do it now while you are in the middle of a transition.. You have tons of followers that will go and then you could set up pages to put each thing on, that way they are organized and if one isnt interested in clothing they wouldnt have to look at it you know, thats just what i thin good luck cant wait to see what you decide!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are gorgeous, I love the way you do your makeup. And I love the way you dressed those pants up.
ReplyDeleteThats a hard one, I would just follow your gut and which you would prefer yourself. :)

I say do whatever you feel is best for you. After all, it is your blog. I read a mixture of things so either way you do it will be fine by me :)
ReplyDeleteI've seen plenty of blogs that are a mix of decor, and craft and style. Hey, that's my blog! It's a bit of everything that makes you-you! I say, mix it up! I like variety in what I read. And I'm sure that no matter which direction you go in, it'll be great.
ReplyDeleteI love your style and also your crafts too! I like them both! I do, however, like seeing the style more! I have learned a lot and have "tried" to integrate them into my own style. :)
ReplyDeleteI am new here so I shall reserve my thoughts until I go through more of your posts - love it from the get go!
ReplyDeleteAlso dig how your rock this cardo skinnies!

ReplyDeleteAnd follow the blog - guess I love you!!
ReplyDeletefirstly LOVE your pants/entire outfit
ReplyDeletesecondly. i dont think it would be annoying to have a combo of style and design, it might even make it more fun! and i definitely think its more personal to have a regular blog then a web blog (if i'm understanding it correctly)
I really want that shoe, I am a size 9, you could send me a pair if you are feeling generous:)
ReplyDeleteI really think that the coolest thing you do on your blog is using coupons for cheap clothing. You should devote your time to teaching and sharing your tricks. I would LOVE that.
ReplyDeleteI think tabs would be helpful, but don't apologize for mixing different things! Your blog should be about YOU - and if you like fashion, and interior design, etc, etc. - throw it all in!
ReplyDeleteMix it up on the one blog. Use tags so people can find stuff easily.
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute!! I have separate blogs cause I figured only certain people were interested in decor... But that's just me! If you have time, two would be nice... But it does take more effort! Either way, I love looking at all your stuff!!
ReplyDeleteI have to tell you the last pic in this post is my MOST FAVORITIST (how is that for grammar)EVER! You are just so gorgeous, lady! :)
