Guys I just need to take a moment and give myself a pat on the back (pat, pat). I have been doing so many grown up things lately. See I really don't like talking to strangers on the phone...well I don't really like talking on the phone, I am more of a text/email kind of communicator. Also I feel like when you are on the phone with a stranger its sort of like forced socializing, I for one am not good at small talk with people I don't know. I would have to say that I am a shy person in real life, unless I know you then I will proceed to talk you ear off about anything from: how cleaning the toilets is my least favorite chore, to how my little wiener dog will eat ANYTHING (by anything I mean gum wrappers, aluminum cans, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal). So back to this: me growing up thing, I have made a lot of calls to complete strangers this past week (I usually have hubby call them or my mom....is that embarrassing....?). Husband and mom were both very proud of me...or at least pretended to be...which I'm fine with.
We're making progress here, maybe one day I will be able to call myself an adult and mean it ;). Baby steps right? Love, love.
PS: Happy St. Patty's Day! I'm not wearing any green either, Eeeek! But green eyes count right? ;)
love the outfit - love your nerd glasses and the red cardi!!
ReplyDeleteyay for no green! i LOVE the colors in this outfit, and the glasses are so cute!!!

So I have to talk to strangers on the phone all the time for work and I'm definitely not a fan of it at all. Completely agree with you there. When it comes to talking to my best friends though, I can knock out an hour, no problem (I guess we're chatty). Anyway, congrats on growing up :)
ReplyDeleteAlso this morning I was putting on my mascara and I totally thought that my green eyes should count for my green for the day. Yay for green eyes!
Hey girl. That's awesome. I have to talk to strangers all the time for work. When I first started I hated it too. I'd put it off to the end of the day or as long as possible but it gets easier. Now I can talk to anyone on the phone and if I have no clue what they are talking about I have the balls to say I’m not following. I use to hate that, I thought they'd think I was clueless but of well. I don't care if they do. And seriously from your blog I'd never have guessed this about you. You seem like the outgoing type.
ReplyDeletelong comment: sorry~! I love those shoes too.
I'd say green eyes count! Or if you were like me when I was in 9th grade I wore a green bra for the day and anyone who tried to pinch me I would show them, and tell them they couldn't because I WAS wearing green. ahhh... I was so silly.
ReplyDeleteThis is totally not silly. I had the same problem until I got a job in PR. Seriously get a job in PR if you want to get rid of this crazy no calling thingy... it works a treat. Now i'll call anyone and everyone. :)

I love orange and red together! Is this a silk shirt with a little button on the back? I love these shirts, they are so comfy & so pretty with cardi's :) Great outfit!
ReplyDeleteMy little girl is all grown up. Love it. Love the glasses too.

Shut up you thrifted those keds? They look brand stinkin new!! I love them!!! Love love love the glasses on you. Totally nerdy chic!! I need some!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a texter/emailer too! What did I do before technology? Love your glasses :)
ReplyDeleteI love random things that make me feel grown up! I just opened up my own just-for-me bank account and scheduled an oil change. I feel like I'm 35 not 25!
ReplyDeleteunfortunately I don't think green eyes count. Seriously take it easy on the grown up stuff, if you try to take on too much you might end up reverting to the beginning. (personal experience). If your hubby and mom really aren't proud of you and just pretending, I'm proud of you! Strangers on the phone are scary (for real).
ReplyDeleteI just saw on your twitter feed (I know, stalker much?) that you aren't getting Disqus. Thank you so so much! I'm so glad!

Yeah, I still make my boyfriend/mom/friends call people for me. I really really hate it as well! At least I know I'm not alone haha :)

I HATE talking on the phone, too. I was never the pre-teen/teen girl with a phone glued to her ear. And my husband and I have the most awkward phone interactions ever. *lol*
ReplyDeleteAlso, don't ever agree to a phone interview: ICK!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE your glasses. :)
I would never be able to pull off those glasses....but you do it perfectly.
