The Living Room's Blue Period

March 31, 2011

I mentioned last week that I have been adding some blue to my living room color scheme. Well it started out with these pic's I framed and now it's like a blue explosion over here, and I am in LOVE!
 {New rug: Target, New throw pillows: Made myself!}
{I like to call it the Beauty and the Beast Plaque: Thrifted, Blue and White Oriental Egg: Thrifted}.
{Love}.

I would say that I don't fit into any sort of design style right now, but if I had to chose I would go with Eclectic. I don't like my rooms to feel too stiff and up tighty. I like more of a comfortable, uniquey, hint of vintage vibe. Also by adding another color to my LV room scheme it adds more visual interest for the eye. Which is what design is all about right, catching that eye ;) (said by the non expert ;)).My living room has come a long way you can see the transformation {HERE}, and it still has a ways to go...Knowing me I will just keep changing it and changing it ;), gotta love that short attention span ;). Right? ;). Love, love friends.

  1. I love it! Great job! I love the orange, yellow, and green--my same colors, lol. Blue is great with them. I love the big floral (orange, yellow, green) pillow and matching ottoman (I think that's what it is...), I have the same sheets! Very cute, looks so inviting & warm.

  4. i love that blue pillow in the first picture! it's a great contrast with the other printed one next to it.

    mixing colors and patterns is so much fun! i love re-doing my apartment and am due for a bedroom makeover. i have to start scouring thrift stores as i don't want to break the bank, as we both know it would be super easy to!

    thanks for sharing; have a great day!

  7. We have that same rug. I love it. I hate what two kids, a dog, and a husband have done to it (and probably me, too).

    Our living room is transforming from a yellow, blue and beige attempt at nautical to a primary colored eclectic blend, and I'm loving it. adding the red has been the best.
