Random Thoughts

March 16, 2011

{80's Dotted Top: Thrifted, Black Jersey Blazer: Kohls, AE Wide Leg Jeans: Plato's Closet, Black Simply Vera Platforms: Kohls, Necklace: Wal-Mart}

I have a lot on my mind lately...most of them have been completely random!

For instance:

~I need to remove my robin egg blue nail polish..it's embarrassingly chipped, and my mom would be ashamed.
~I need to get in shape, ya see I hibernate like a bear in winter. I very rarely move at all and eat lots of high fat foods...It's rather disgusting. That leads to my next:
~I need to sign us up for the gym again, and have a strict exercising regimen.
~I think I was born without the "wanting to have a baby" part of my DNA. I swear everyone around me can't wait to have kids, and then there is me aka "the black sheep" who could wait till her mid thirties to have kids. Please say I'm not the only one!!
~I register for school in less than a week...which is scary.
~I feel guilty for spending so much money on myself for said schooling.
~My sister's Bday is on Saturday and I have no idea of what to get her! What do you get a 16 year old?
~I honestly can't remember the last time I tweezed my eyebrows...seriously they look like caterpillars.
~I'm a bleacherexic (obsessed with bleaching my teeth). I haven't done it in a week and feel like my teeth are so yellow. They probably are due to the immense amounts of diet pepsi I drink everyday ;).
~LOVE the new art I made for my living room! I can't wait to share it with you guys!
~So grateful to everyone who has purchased items from the MVD shop to help disaster relief over in Japan.
~I think Bethenny, initially from: The Real Housewives of New York (yes I watch those shows, I have no shame) and now she has her own show called, Bethenny Ever After or something like that. Well I think she is the funniest person on the planet right now. I just laugh and laugh whenever I watch her show.
~Why do all men insist on sleeping on their backs? Is it to achieve optimal snoring? Pretty sure that is the case.
~What is up with this Disqus commenting format? Do you guys use it/like it? I am thinking about switching over I just need to see what the benefits are ya know? Would love some input friends! Thanks in advance!
~Baby Mama is the funniest movie, I watched it last night when my man was achieving his optimal snoring.
~Just found out hubby is leaving on another business trip...this time to India....and I HATE IT!! Well hate is pretty harsh so strongly dislike.

Phew! I think that's all for now! Thanks to all of you for being such gems. Have any random thoughts you need to get of your chest? Go right ahead mmk I give you permission ;). Love, love.

  3. I am with you on alot of these, the most that obtain to me are: No babies(still at 25), I think the same about Bethanny, and yes, it's true about men and their snoring!

  4. 1. Your teeth are amazingly white, and I'm so jealous.

    2. I don't want kids either yet. I'm happy to wait even though I have a friend younger than me and pregnant with her second.

    3. DONT GET DISQUS! From the commentors point of view, IT SUCKS! It never works, so many hopes to jump through, and have you seen the words they make you type? Maybe it's great for the blogger, but I HATE it! And all my fav blogs are getting them! BLERG!

    4. You're gorgeous and sorry for the long comment!

  5. Hi. First, my nails are robin's egg blue right now and chipped too. Weird. Next, you know that you and I share the same baby feelings. Is there some kind of medicine we can take to get us onboard? Because I'd LOVE to get my mother in law off my back. Next, the eyebrow confession is HILARIOUS. Last, I love you, and you're pretty.

  7. I sorta want a baby...but mostly because everyone around me is having babies and I feel like I should. Usually the idea terrifies me! Plus I am so awkward around newborns; I don't know what to do with them. My husband is worst though! And my husby and I have lots of plans to travel and do stuff, so no baby until early thirties...probably. (My husband is perfectly happy with that plan, too. ;)

Bethenny IS funny! I was obsessed with her show over the summer when she was preparing to have her daughter. Also, I really thought that Baby Mama was going to be terrible, but was beyond incredibly surprised.

  8. My two best friends are with child or recently pushed one out. Me, I can wait. Um, there is nothing pleasant about getting a watermellon through the hole the size of a grapefruit? Nothanks. (too graphic, sorry!) Also once you have one it controls your life. I am convinced I have absolutely no maternal instincts. Stay strong, say no to babies! There are others of us who are part of the no-baby club.

Also Disqus sucks to comment on in my oh-so-humble opinion.

  9. Laughing at your random thoughts - we are too much alike :) PS Babies are more desirable to have AFTER you have your first. Trust me.

  11. P.S. I watch those Bravo shows too and Bethanny is my FAVE! I love her! She is so funny! I am glad to know there is someone else out there who enjoys those shows too! :)

  12. This seriously made me laugh!! You are too funny. Weird how we have a lot of the same random thoughts in our head. Husband and I just got a gym membership yesterday and we are starting to run today. We'll see how long that lasts haha But I'm the same i hibernate during the winter. Which sucks when summer creeps up so fast!! OH and I'm the exact same way about babies. I feel like we are still learning how to take care of ourselves. I had a friend that hated when people asked them the "when are you having babies" question. So every time someone asked they would say, oh we're saving for a boat first. It confused the heck out of people so they would never ask again haha

  15. I also chose to wait. I gave birth to my son when I was 31, which is VERY old where I come from. I endured nagging and whispering and stupid comments.

And I am so happy I waited! I am a wonderful mother. Really. I don't think I could be that wonderful mother to my child if I was giving birth earlier. I wasn't mature enough, or responsible, I didn't have an image of me as a mom when I was younger.

So I encourage you to wait and listen to your heart and brain. Together, they know best.

Good luck standing up to annoying (and sometimes mean) people.

  16. You are so lovely in these photos. I really love your hair. I wish I could get away with bangs, but my forehead is so small and I look ridiculous. Hehe. ;) Oh, and I love your shirt!

We have a lot in common! I am also a bear during the winter and I am desperately trying to lose weight now, before summer. Lol.

And I am nowhere near wanting kids! I'm 27 and still have NO desire to procreate and it is putting my parents in a panic attack. Ha! I think early 30s is a good time and hopefully, I will want them by then because I really don't want to be alone forever. (I have no siblings!)

Second my nails are chipped too and it's this amazing pastel minty green and it is so embarrassing and Third I am married, 21, and I couldn't even fathom having a baby right now or for the next few years! Fourth... I am guilty of hibernating too. So don't worry about :)

  21. Seriously. Love. You. So many of your random thoughts ring true for me, except my sweet hubs sleeps on his tummy, and still snores. Oh well, when he is not home I miss it, what can I say? He's got me hooked ;)
Don't let ANYONE pressure you into children, they are permanent, wonderful, and so much work. And really they deserve to come to a home and parents who are ready. I very much recommend mother hood, but as someone who became a mother of two by 20, yes I know i told you he has me hooked ;), do it when you are ready.
Oh and I love bethenny too :)

  22. Like Erica said above, Disqus is super great for the blogger. I get a lot of comments and sometimes people ask questions or need a response to things, and Disqus makes it super easy for me to respond. When I was with the normal Blogger commenting system, I would hate having to track down their e-mail if they didn't have a blog, which sometimes wasn't available. It was just frustrating and it happened a lot. Plus I am really behind on my comments and Disqus is just SUPER organized and makes it easy to catch up.

As a commenter, I liked Disqus. I didn't have any problems with it. However, I did have a reader send me an e-mail saying she can't comment anymore. I guess it doesn't work on all browsers, which is a total bummer. I think once I'm caught up on my comments I'll probably switch it back. OR HOPEFULLY Blogger will make the commenting system way easier, I know they are changing up some things real soon!
