I have some news that may come as a shock to you. I would not dress this way everyday if I didn't have this blog. See I do a lot of my work from my home....and I loathe getting ready. I mean there is so that goes into getting ready like: showering, shaving, lotioning, painting my face, doing my hair, and then staring into the abyss that is my closet. All for what? To look good for my 48" flat screen TV boyfriend?
If you were to see me in my non-blogger form, you wouldn't recognize me I can promise you that. You would probably find me in baggy jeans, little to no makeup, hair left air dried (which I am thinking about doing it that way more often, it has a natural wave which can be uber annoying and adds to my frustration of getting ready but can look decent...), t-shirt, low profile kicks (toms, vans, etc), and a cardigan.
Does this make me an ironic abomination? Yes I did go to school for Fashion Merchandising...Yes I LOVE fashion...And Yes I am lazy. I am grateful for this blog for many of reasons, one of them being that it makes me get ready, so I can try and look my best. You always have a little more confidence, or a little more spring in your step when you get ready. Agree? Husband even likes it! He told me the other day when we were taking picks that he needs to take me out more ;). Hello! Win, win! So thank you in advance blog for providing many a hot dates in the future with my schweetie ;).
Also this is my 200th post! Probably should have used it on something a little more celebratory right ;). Maybe by the 300th post I will have a better handle on things ;). Thanks for sticking through 200 friends, here's to the next and many more after that ;). Love, love, love!

ps: Do you have a birthday in April/best month of the year? Email me a pic of your fine self, your blog link/website link if you have one, and your birth date for a special bloggy birthday party post! Send them to me at Morgan@meetvirginiadesign.com and if you could have them to me by April 11th that would be great! Thanks friends! You can also go {HERE} for more information.
I totally get this! I am the EXACT same way, you are not alone! If I'm at home, I'm always in comfies. I get dressed if I leave the house or do an outfit post haha. But that is why these blogs are so great! They make us think a little more about what we put on. Way cute top!
ReplyDeleteamy day to day
I love the colours!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the top! Also love the confessions of a lazy fashaholic like myself. I even leave the confines of my home to work, but still hate getting made up for the day. One of my celeb favs, maggie gyllenhaal, says the best hair cut is one you can wash, air dry, and run out the door. I have yet to find one of those, but let me know how it goes.
ReplyDeletecongrats on the 200th post!!! i love this shirt so much, it is so spring-ish! i am sort of the same, some lazy days i literally get dressed for an outfit post photo shoot and then get back in pjs hahaha! but shh :)

hehe you are too funny. love your writing! you look so good - i'd never guess that you didn't like dressing up for it so much. ;)
ReplyDeleteand yay to your 200th post - you go, girl!
I LOVE your color palette though - nice and springy, so let's hope it brings on that SPRING weather!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you about getting dressed and feeling great. Yesterday I did such a thing. I even wore these cute little shoes that hurt my feet that I knew that my hubby likes. I just knew that he would appreciate comming home to a wife that wasn't disheveled and still in work out clothes. The first thing he said was "I like your shoes!" Then I took them off. :) It was worth the compliment hehe.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love the floral top and the bright cardi combo! So fresh and pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit pops out so much!!! I LOVE it. I love all of the hidden turquoise underneath. I agree with you that dressing up adds a spring in your step. It usually makes my day a little better!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!

Congrats on your 200th! Also, totally think you should rock the air dryed/wavy hair, I'm sure you still look darling.xx Corinna
ReplyDeleteFashion blogging has made me get dressed as well. I work out of the house, so I always got dressed, but I just threw on whatever I grabbed first. Now that I'm photographing my outfits for the universe, I put more effort into it. And I actually feel good now about what I wear. Huh, go figure.
ReplyDeleteAlso, loving your spring-y outfit! The colors are awesome!

Oh I'm the exact same way! Most days, I don't really have a reason to leave the house. And when I only have to go out to run to the pharmacy or post office, I don't bother. I'm usually wearing sweatpants or jeans, boyfriend's hoodie, and probably some socks with little fishies or disney princesses all over them. Thats how I roll. And I went to school for fashion design. So I definitely get what you are saying.
ReplyDeleteBut yes, I LOVE that having my blog motivates me to not only get dressed, but look my best and wear what I love, when I do go out.
P.S - your bright top and cardigan are too adorable. I love all your bright colors!
I love this outfit! Makes me want spring that much more! And I totally agree if I didn't have the kidos then I would stay in my jammies or jeans and a hoodie. But alast ... I have to get ready to see all the other mommies out there, ug. Thanks for sharing and Happy 200!!!!! And yahoo to more dates!!
ReplyDeleteLove that top. And those light jeans are awesome! I agree with you. On the weekends, I'm such a slob!
ReplyDeleteHappy 200th post I love this outfit. The end!

I love your floral top! I'm from Canada and we don't have Khols there but I have been in the states for school the last four years but I hadn't discovered it yet until my husband and I went there a few months ago and it was instant love! What a wonderful place :)

I get home from work and put on sweat pants and a baggy shirt. This is a great excuse to look hot! Glad your husband appreciates it and so do we cause I can plan for the one day a week I do get ready. hahah... cute outfit. love the floral shirt!
ReplyDeleteI think that the cardigan is the perfect color for you! It brings our your gorgeous eyes :]
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way, at school I just wear jeans and a shirt because I have labs all day and I'd rather get those messy instead of clothes I actually like! But I do think it's fun to walk around the house in a cute little dress, even if no one is there to see!
xx
yup sounds about right! i love fashion too, but i also work from home and yeah.. getting all dolled up just isn't going to happen! i try extra hard on the weekends though :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE how bright and springy this outfit is! I totally know what you mean about getting ready. As soon as I get home (or done with blog photos) I change into baggy sweats & throw my hair up! :)
ReplyDeleteNormally I'd be inspired by an outfit like this, but now I'm downright jealous.

I couldn't have said it better myself! Being on the internet definitely sets the bar a little higher but you're doing a great job! Love the YOWZA factor of the yellow cardigan.
ReplyDeletecongrats on the 200th post...and i have the same confession (i probably wouldn't get dressed at all, ever, if i didn't have my blog). you look great--bright, cheery, springy, and downright fabulous.
ReplyDeleteand p.s. LOVE the blue in the living room. i have a blue/ivory rug that i adore as well--you can check it out on my blog if you want. it's similar to yours. (i got mine on overstock)
