{Floral Top: Thrifted, Pencil Skirt: Thrifted, Shoes: Head Over Heels (Local UT Shoe Store), Necklace: Target, Earrings: Vintage}
So friends that time is upon us...Summer school started last week. I have been a little ball of stress for the past week. See I haven't been in school for over a year, and I didn't have a blog at that time. I am trying to find balance with being a wife/daughter/sister/friend, working, blogging, church responsibilities, and finding me time. I know that I need to really prioritize my time, and exude more self control..This could be difficult since I have little to none ;). Any of you bloggers out there suffer or have dealt with this problem in the past? I would sure love any and all tips that you would want to share, that may help me. In the mean time thank you guys for always being so sweet and patient with me. It means the world! I'd be so completely lost in this blogger world without ya! Love, love friends!

ps: Don't forget we are starting Thriftaholics Weekly Link Up tomorrow, so be thinking of any thrifted finds you want to show off! Thrifted finds can be an article(s) of clothing worn in outfit posts, home decor, really anything you have thrifted and want to show off your thrifty skills!
SERIOUSLY love that skirt! Fantastic thrift - you must come to ID to help me learn this art of thrifting you speak of. ;)
ReplyDeleteI hear you on trying to balance all of your time - for me sometimes it helps to sit down a couple nights a week and schedule out some posts so they auto post in the morning. :)
Super cute!
ReplyDeleteBest thing that works for me is to make the most out of even 15 minutes at a time. You can take some much needed me-time in 15 minutes or accomplish quite a bit if you push yourself. It's hard to dedicate an hour or more to things at times so it's about the small amount of time in between that helps.
First of all, love that outfit! That red skirt is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSecondly, I totally understand. I think the best advice I can give you is to set some time limits on the blogging. Like, I can look at blogs these days for this long and that's it. You might be able to cut back to on how long it takes to post (not sure how much editing you do but maybe you can skip a lot of it)and maybe cut back the number of times you post a week. Hope that helps! :D

awesome thrift finds! I dont know how ppl post everyday too, I'll get lucky if I do 3-4 post a week! lol yes it's hard to balance everything especially when you have an infant :D
ReplyDeletetake it a day at a time, girl. go buy yourself some shoes - retail therapy always helps. ;)
ReplyDeletelove this outfit, esp the skirt!!!!
Oh my gosh I LOVE that skirt/top...and I have never gone thrifting before...I"m pretty sure I would be horrible at it. I think I'll just stick to the malls but I LOVE YOUR OUTFIT! Anywho, good luck with the balance...I need to work on that too hehe. Have a great day!

Oh I love that floral top and your necklace is so cute! Good luck with everything! You will do great!

You look adorbs.
ReplyDeleteI balance my time only sort of well. But I schedule a lot of blog posts so that it doesn't become a daily stress. In fact, I schedule and outsource as much as I possibly can so I don't stress -- cooking, cleaning, plucking my eyebrows!
Finding balance is tough! I work full time, school part time, wife, church duties, house stuff and all that, so I know how hard it is to find time to blog. To be honest, I haven't completely figured it out, but I have cut back majorly on my commenting and finding new blogs. Which has defintely hurt my growth but has been good for my marriage, so I'll take it.

You thrifted that skirt? It's such a great color and length! Perfect! You know how to wear bold colors so well!
ReplyDeleteamy day to day
That skirt is AMAZING! love the color and the length is perfection.
ReplyDeleteMorgan, I am so in love with this look! It is seriously amazing.
ReplyDeleteAnd I feel your pain. Finding balance is an ongoing struggle for me. And probably everyone.
Ask the Duplex
oh my goodness, yes. i struggle so much with prioritizing! here's what i've done:
ReplyDelete1. make a list of ALL my responsibilities/roles
2. figure out which ones HAVE to get done and which ones i simply WANT to get done. It's okay to say, "I have to blog three times a week for my sanity!" I know I do. But I can go a few weeks without crafting.
3. decide which things need to get done daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, etc.
4. come up with a schedule and place things in slots
5. be flexible with certain things, but always set confined rules. For example, if a friend wants to go to lunch, let some things go! You need your girl time! But if you said no more than 30 minutes of computer time a day...stick to it!
6. Routines help. i have the same morning routine: feed the baby, shower/get ready, breakfast, straighten the house. It helps so much because i always know what i'm doing!
Good luck!
Yay for going back to school! Way to go, dahling!! Having your priorities in line always helps when you have a full time job or go to school full time. Kudos to you for sticking to it while going to school! Just take one day at a time, remember to breath and don't stress out about blogging. You WILL make it :) :)

I'm definitely going thrifting right now to find a red pencil skirt and a floral top.
ReplyDeleteThis is an issue for me everyday! Here are a couple of tips:
ReplyDelete1. make a list of things you hope to achieve each week. Rank them in order of importance.
2. at the beginning of each study period set goals.
I usually have a basic goal for each day, which is read at least 4 article or read 1/2 a book. And lastly, always do the hardest thing first, then you won't put it off & procrastinate (finger crossed).
Hope that helps xo
I really want your necklace! :(
ReplyDeleteugh i totally have trouble finding time to balance it all too :( i love your top though :)

Steffys Pros and Cons
Oh yeah! I'm currently going to school full-time on top of being a stay-at-home mom to a two-year-old, 18 weeks pregnant, and trying to stay sane. Not that my blog isn't important to me, but when I'm swamped with housework and homework and needing to have some time with my hubby somewhere in there too, my blog takes a back seat. The good thing is, readers understand that you're human just like them and that life just gets crazy sometimes. I do my best to keep my readers informed when those crazy times happen so they know I haven't dropped off of the face of the earth. And at the end of the day, that's all you can do.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this outfit, so cute. The colors are wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteUM YES! I am always trying to find time to manage my blog! A lot of the time I just want to give up, but then I click that new post button again! I hope you do find some balance in your new hectic schedule.
ReplyDeleteI'll take that shirt now. LOVE IT! As for balance, lemme know what you learn cuz I'm still trying to figure it out...

You can do it, Morgan!
ReplyDeleteI had to go back to work full-time when Chris got laid off just about 2 years ago. It was tough, trying to work & keep up the blog & give Penelope & Chris enough attention. We made it work, though. The hardest part was getting tutorials done with whatever little sunlight was left after I'd get home from work. A lot of my blog work happened on the weekends.
I totally couldn't have done it without the love & support from Chris. You've got yourself a good man, so you can totally do it!! Good luck!
First of all, you are beautiful. I love your hair!
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion is to make a schedule. As hard as it sounds... yet it is so simple. Sit down on Sunday and list ALL of your obligations & desires. Be sure to schedule study time, blog time, down time, and husband time. It helps me! Especially if it is a handwritten schedule with pretty marker colors.
That is a lot to balance on your shoulders. Remember that your happiness is always the most important. Love the bright colors in this outfit. You look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Bre

ReplyDeleteYeah, balance. I think we all struggle with it. Doesn't help that I'm completely dis-organized too! I think my biggest problem is the computer being a time-suck. That twitter can be evil, for sure!
