A Poll Of Sorts

So guys in my quest to find balance in my life (ps: thank you for your wonderful tips and words of advice they were all so sweet and helpful!), I have come across some areas that I need to cut back in. But before I do I wanted to get your feed back since it will affect ya'll the most. See I have struggled to find time to do it all in the blogging world. If I try and answer all of your comments then I don't have time to make as many posts per week and vice versa. I had made the decision last week to cut back on commenting and try to post as much as possible since I thought that is what you all may have wanted. Then I got to thinking why don't I just ask you guys what you want and what is important to you (shame shame on me for just assuming!) ultimately it is still my decision but you guys are the ones who read this so I want/need your input! So voice your opinions friends! Do you want more posting around these parts or more commenting from me? Or perhaps I should set up a formspring or something where you can ask me direct questions? Once again I don't have everything figured out...surprised much ;). Thanks again friends! Love, love.

  1. First of, love those shoes, chica! They really add a lot to the outfit!

Secondly, I think that you should do whatever makes you feel the happiest. To me, it's about balance. I've settled down to about 3 posts a week and then I try to comment back on reader's blogs maybe twice a week. I don't really respond to comments anymore unless it's a question. I feel like the reader's appreciate a comment on their blog more than a response to the comment but that's just what I came up with!

Just make sure you are happy and not stressing over it! we'll be happy if you're happy! :D

  2. I love the color of that outfit. I also think your blog is perfect the way it is. You answered my question in a timely manner and I was happy with the results. Keep up the good blogging! I love it

  3. I, personally, respond to all my comments {granted, I don't have nearly as many followers as you...or as many comments}. I know how much I love hearing back from bloggers after leaving them a comment, so I try to do the same. However, its a perk of having your own blog that you get to decide what you want! :) If you feel that content is more important, then go for it! Regardless, your blog is fabulous {and inspiring to me}! I will read it whether you reply to any comments or not! :)

  4. I think I'd rather have you do some posts and do some genuine commenting, rather than one or the other. I love lots of posts, but if I never hear from you, I start to feel my blogger friends don't care. You know those bloggers that never ever respond or comment? I wouldn't want to be one of those :) That's just my two cents, though. If you need to cut back on things, you should. Don't think about what everyone else wants or needs. You need to be happy!

  5. Love your style, this outfit is great!!

I read your post and my opinion is you should keep posting. I love your posts and seeing your style. Comments are nice to but i think everyone can understand that commenting on all the comments is hard. Whatever decision you make just make sure it feels right for you. =)

p.s. Those shoes are fabulous. Great job on the skirt, and that top is adorable. I need to hit my DI more often!!

  6. I will not take it personally if you don't respond back to comments. It's time consuming. Even for a little blog like mine! I'd much rather see your posts!

I'm hosting my very first giveaway this week! Hope you'll check it out.

  8. You should definitely post more. You have been great at commenting for so long everyone will understand you're just busy. :) and you're and awesome blogger so that's what you should focus on .....in the blog world at least :)

  9. Love your blog, especially the Thriftaholics linkup. Love your big, bright, crisp pictures.

As for comments, I could care less if you comment back to me, I know how time consuming that could be and really it seems that the comments are for your own encouragement whenever you have time to soak it up, right? Maybe if someone has a specific question that seems unanswered in the blog that is of importance you would want to take the time to clarify.

Otherwise, if you have time to slip a comment in on a blog you read, I would think that is more important to send the love around, right? (not necessary to answer that..ha!)

  10. I have never left a comment for anyone expecting a guaranteed comment or blog visit back, and didn't know when I started blogging that some people did, or that there were "proper blog etiquette" rules out there about returning comments... I think I would have been scared off if I had! Who wants that pressure? So I do as much as I can do and then don't worry about it!
(and I am soooo small-scale compared to your blog, it's mind-boggling to me that you actually attempt it!)

  11. i think a combo of both. i totally know what you mean and have the same problem.. so i cut back to outfits every other day. maybe a little less posts but not TOO many less, and just a few scattered comments :)

  13. I don't expect you to reply, but I love your posts. I think replying to everyone's questions could become overwhelming.

  14. I think posting is the number one, but there should be a little bit of a combo going on!

  17. It's your blog of course, so whatever you decide is great. I personally think there are enough bloggers out there who just post and don't take/have the time to respond to comments and build relationships -- so I value you for your sweet comments and friendliness! But either way, your blog will be great.

  18. adorable outfit!! you really made that skirt?! amazing!! :)

on a second note, you have to do what makes you happy, but i try to do a combo of both... mainly focus on wonderful posts... but i like to stop by my favorites and leave some love back... and i used to try and reply to all comments, but i cut back on that, unless someones asks a specific question...

but anyways, keep up the great job! you will find a balance that works for you!

    have a great weekend! :)

  19. Lovely outfit. You are so lovely. I appreciate your heart to keep in touch with your readers and put out quality content. I feel like if the two were a pendulum, I'd swing more to the putting out content as quality and as often as you can be proud of. Best of luck on the teeter totter of the blog balancing act! :) everrubygirl.blogspot.com

  20. I've been having a similar dilemma! Life is so busy that I barely have time to take photos and write my posts, much less comment on every ones blogs and respond to comments. I think most people understand that often times life gets in the way of blogging. I love your posts and your blog so keep the posts coming girl!
